| About: The CONMEBOL Copa América, originally called the South American Football Championship until 1975, is the premier men’s football tournament in South America, held every four years. It is the world’s oldest continental football competition and the third most-watched. Eight of the ten CONMEBOL national teams have won the tournament at least once since its inception in 1916. Argentina and Uruguay lead with 15 titles each. Argentina has hosted the event the most, while the United States is the only non-CONMEBOL country to have hosted it.
