About: KSTU (channel 13) is a Fox-affiliated television station in Salt Lake City, Utah, owned by the E. W. Scripps Company along with independent station KUPX-TV (channel 16). KSTU’s studios are on West Amelia Earhart Drive, and its transmitter is on Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains. The station started broadcasting in 1978 as an independent channel 20, becoming the first successful commercial UHF station in Utah. KSTU moved to channel 13 in 1987 and became a Fox affiliate in 1986. It was Fox-owned from 1989 to 2007 and has since been owned by Local TV LLC, Tribune Media, and Scripps. The station began producing local news in 1991 and now airs over 62 hours of news weekly. (From Wikipedia) |
